What Does Your Struggle Bus Look Like?

by Journey to Health Program Director, Becky Anderson

Every single one of us have gone through challenging seasons of our lives. Only you know what your season looks like. I’m going to share mine, and then we can look forward on how to get through our seasons together.

“Your child has cancer. They’re waiting for you on the oncology floor at St. John’s Children’s Hospital.” In the blink of an eye, my well-being was the last thing on my mind….for over 2 years. For over 2 years my life was about helping my 5-year-old survive, it was about keeping her siblings thriving, it was about making sure our busy, active lives kept functioning. When Shoni rang the bell and the dust settled, I had no idea what to do with my life.

We all have gotten to a point where we tell ourselves that it’s time to take back control of our own lives; to make ourselves a priority. If that’s you, join me as we get back to the healthiest versions of ourselves. Carrying extra weight, my back and knees hurting, my energy levels down, my inability to focus, my clothes not fitting the way I wish they would……I’m taking back control of my life. Join me and let’s do this together.
