Sweet, Sweet Summertime. One Month Down, Two to Go…

by Journey to Health Program Director, Becky Anderson

When you “blow it” with the healthy lifestyle choices you’re trying to make, do you immediately get back on task? Or do you think, “Well, that didn’t work. I will try again tomorrow (next week, next month, etc.)”

In every journey we go on in our lives, we will fail at some point. We are human. There is no reason to beat ourselves up over setbacks. It is through our failures that we learn what to do/not do the next time.

In over 20 years in the weight loss field, it is the participants that get from their starting weight to their goal weight without a hiccup that concern me the most. That is just not the norm. I have more confidence in successful weight maintenance for those that struggle on a regular basis, but they don’t quit. It is these people that will find a way to achieve their goal.

I say all of that to finish with this, summer is 1/3 of the way over. Where are we with the summer goals we set a month ago? Have we had some set backs? If so, great! What did you learn from those? If each of these summer months we are able to learn a little more about ourselves, than we win.

If it helps you to say out loud the things that caused you to stumble, email me and tell me about it. Let’s talk through it. I promise you that I am a JUDGEMENT FREE ZONE. I am constantly working on ways to improve how Journey To Health can help you in your quest to increase your quality of life. Never hesitate to reach out if there’s any way I can help you.
