Avoiding Saboteurs is So Important!

by Journey to Health Program Director, Becky Anderson

Life is hard on its own. It becomes nearly impossible when we surround ourselves with people who don’t care about what’s best for you.

Saboteurs are everywhere. Saboteurs may be people that love you, but don’t understand, clearly, what your goals are. To increase your chances of success on this journey to a healthier you, there are small things that you can change:

Stop procrastinating.
Make plans, make them known, and make sure everyone in your support system knows these plans.

Have a strong support system.
There are people in your life that you can’t “get rid of,” but it’s so important that you keep positive, supportive people in your life that cheer you onto a healthier you.

Be vocal with your intentions.
Make sure anyone that you will be around understands what your plan is for a meal, an event, a day, a trip, or a season. Also, making it well-known helps you to feel some accountability.

Be forgiving.
You are not perfect. Nobody is. Find a way to forgive yourself when you fall off your plan and get back on track. A lot of times it is your support system that makes this possible.

YOU GOT THIS!!! Let me know how I can help! Make sure I’m part of your support system!
